Paying for web content

One of the top guys over at Google has made it clear that in times to come, all content will be paid for on the internet in a similar manner as the print industry works today, with magazines and newspapers.

In fact it was implied that those sites that do not or will not charge for content will not survive through one reason or another. This could mean that the cost of running websites is set to rise over the next few years or that the websites will not be getting any advertising.

But have they got it wrong, there will always be sites that offer free content, this is the spirit of the internet freedom of choice! So unless Google are planning to take over and manage the entire internet and then charge the earth to advertise and for hosting this just will not happen.

The internet is the ultimate shopping mall, there is always going to be a good deal out there on the net.
