Police filling up with wrong petrol

There was a time when there were only two different pumps at the petrol filling station, but these days pulling up a modern service station can sometime be a case of multiple choice with so many types of fuel to choose from how can you be sure that you are filling up with the right stuff.

To highlight this issue, we only have to look at the Essex Police Force; they have seen their officers fill up with the wrong fuel over two hundred and twenty times over the past five years. This has meant that the force has had to pay out to have these vehicles off the road while they are being fixed.

Isn’t it about time that car manufacturers and fuel companies got together and sorted a system that is absolutely fool proof, this could be something as simple as colour coded filler caps and pumps.

This would make the whole problem disappear overnight.
