Secret sites for GM crops

Once again, the government have selected sites where the trials of genetically modified (GM) crops will be trialled, at the moment there are no trials going on within the UK, but this will change when the trials restart at secret locations and possibly a government military research facility at Salisbury in Wiltshire.

In the past when these trials have been taking place, there has been serious disruption and even vandalism at the sites making the research virtually useless.

Nevertheless, in order to make these sites secret there would need to be a change in the rules that allow public disclosure of these sites, once this information is out there then there is nothing to stop people from travelling to these sites and in many cases destroying the test crop.
