Children with drinking problems

Shops and stores that sell alcoholic drinks are coming under increasing pressure due to the amount of children and teenagers who are drinking alcohol to excess.

At such a young age, these young drinkers are at a higher risk of suffering from liver disease and cancer. This would normally be expected in adults who drink heavily in the later part of their lives, yet because some youngsters are experiencing this type of illness in their late twenties or early thirties.

According to figures released by the Department of Health, show that forty nine people in their twenties died from liver failure due to excessive alcohol consumption, this is the highest figure for deaths from alcohol related illness on record.
