Tesco launch insurance supermarket

Giving customers more choice is the single point that large supermarkets like Tesco are good at, which is probably why they are at the top of tree. Now they are to become the first supermarket chain in the UK to offer financial services from a variety of providers. Normally they would sell one branded policy, but this opens up a huge marketplace for them and will put pressure on the other supermarket chains and insurance comparison sites.

Tescos entry into this sort of business could mark a change in the strategy that could them attacking a lot more markets that are not normally associated with supermarkets. With Tescos around, it would appear that no business sector is safe from their expansion plans, could it be that one day it would be possible to buy absolutely everything that we use from one place!
