Nintendo sued over Wii
There is a class action law suit in the US, which could mean that the Nintendo Wii said to be the biggest seller this Christmas, being blamed for the damage to televisions.
The £3 million case has been started by Molly Elvig, whose son threw the controller into the TV set while playing a game of bowling; this was despite using the safety wrist straps that are supposed to prevent this from happening.
Since its launch, there have been three changes to the wrist strap due to the effects of operating the control by throwing and pushing etc.
Nintendo have not made any statements regarding this case or indeed, to current situation with regards to the wrist strap, but in 2006 they did say that the straps could break if any excessive force was used.
