Copy a DVD and you are breaking the law

It seems that there could be a difference of opinion as exactly what pirating is, today most people think of pirates as those file sharers who distribute copyrighted material over the internet. This form of piracy is the subject of many legal battles.

But it seems that the copyright holders, who are mainly big businesses are not content with going after internet pirates, it seems that the industry are laying down exactly what piracy is and according to the Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) if a person makes a single copy of DVD then that makes them a pirate.

The MPAA argue that the average price of a DVD is set to reflect the fact that the customer will be able to use it for a certain amount of time and cannot be copied in any way otherwise prices will have to increase.
