Oxfam becomes Oxtran for one night only
Most people know of Oxfam, their stores can be found in most high streets. Yet the store in Leeds appears to be trying to attract a different type of customer, even if it is only for night a month.
Being given clothes to sell has been the main force behind many charity shops, but it seems that in Leeds there is an abundance of oversized women’s clothing. This was beginning to build up, until the manager Sally Stone hit upon the idea of a ready made market for these clothes.
So for one evening a month the store is opened up, renamed Oxtran and the city’s cross dressing community go shopping! This works for both parties, Oxfam are able to shift their the excess stock and the cross dressing community can go out shopping without being hassled or anything.
