Woman steals $400,000 from QVC

Finding a little loophole on a website is not that surprising these days, no matter what sort of security measures they have put in, there is always going to be someone somewhere who either looks for or finds by accident a way of getting away with not paying for something.

But in this case Quantina Moore-Perry from Greenboro, NC in the States found that if she ordered something and then immediately cancelled the order, the money was not taken from her bank, but the goods were still delivered. She carried on doing this for nearly eight months, obtaining over $400,000 worth of goods from the QVC website.

She did not keep the goods, as they were sold on eBay and it was this that led to her downfall, after someone had bought one of her listings, it arrived still in the QVC packaging, and the buyer contacted the shopping channel and that was the end of the scheme.

The woman pleaded guilty and is waiting to hear her fate from the Federal court.
