Shop online with a virtual credit card

Buying products and services online is a booming business, its convenient and there are no stressful days going around the stores, but one thing hangs over the online shopping success story, theft! Or to be more precise, credit card theft. It takes a few seconds and can cost you thousands, but is there an alternative?

There are virtual credit cards available, which give you total control over your credit card spending. Say you are buying a TV for £500; the virtual credit card has a randomly generated number, which keeps your real number safe. You can then place an expiry date on it, like one week or one month and the credit limit, which would be set at £500 or £501 whatever works.

So the virtual card is right on its limit and will expire shortly anyway, not much of a prize for a thief.

This type of service is a great way to be secure while shopping online, it may be slightly inconvenient but what price can you put on being safe and secure online.
